About the Empress Joséphine (L’Impératrice Joséphine) painting ‘The Empress Josephine,’ an oil painting by Pierre-Paul Prud’hon created around 1805, resides in the Louvre Museum in Paris. This art piece presents Joséphine de Beauharnais, the first wife of Emperor Napoleon I, in the serene surroundings of La Malmaison, imbued with romantic melancholy.
