Antique French Provincial wine taster (tastevin) crafted in solid 800 silver, dating between 1819 and 1838. The piece bears the maker’s mark J.P. with an anchor, along with the Liberty Head and Minerva hallmarks guaranteeing a silver fineness of at least 800/1000.
Featuring a bold, rounded form with a serpent-style ring handle, this substantial piece shows a fine lathe mark at the base — a detail typical of early to mid-19th century craftsmanship. Around the rim, it is engraved CLUZEL JEAN PERRIN À MAUZAT.
Condition : This item is in good antique condition, showing minor scratches, small dents, slight deformations, and patina consistent with its age. Overall, it remains sturdy and beautiful, making it perfect for use or as a collectible.
