Antique silver plated oval platter by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). Since the 1850s, WMF has been a leading name in silver-plated tableware, renowned for its quality and design.
Beautifully crafted with ornate handles and a subtle hammered finish, this piece reflects the refined craftsmanship of late 19th to early 20th century WMF creations. The maker’s mark dates it between 1886 and 1903, with the letter “M” indicating Messing (German for brass), signifying its brass base.
A distinguished example of German silverwork, ideal as a serving tray or decorative centerpiece.
Condition :
This piece is in excellent antique condition, with minor scratches, small dents, plate wear and patina consistent with its age. It’s still shiny and remains sturdy for use. **It wobbles slightly on a flat surface, as shown in the video.
