Exquisite English Sterling Silver Wine Taster (Tastevin) crafted in 1970 by the Parsons of Tessier, London. Featuring a detailed grapevine design and an intricately crafted serpent-shaped handle, this sterling silver piece is both functional and decorative. The hallmark ‘HP over LP in a shield’ represents the renowned Herbert and Lawrence Parsons, celebrated silversmiths and jewelers who owned Tessier’s, one of London’s finest and oldest establishments. Known for exceptional quality, their clientele included many titled families.

About Tessiers Ltd Tessier’s, a prestigious London silversmith and jeweler, claims roots back to 1812, potentially tied to Huguenot refugee Etienne de Tessier (1712). The business was first recorded in 1841 as Griffin & Tessier. Over the years, it transitioned through several partnerships, including Louis Tessier, his sons Henry and Edward, and later Vander & Hedges. In 1920, the company became Tessiers Ltd., with Arthur Martin Parsons, Frank Herbert Parsons, and S.F. Parsons as its first directors. Herbert Martin Parsons (1892–1981), son of A.M. Parsons, succeeded his father as head of the company.
