Vintage French ‘Christ of Sorrow’ sculpture in high-relief carved walnut wood, from around the first half of the 20th century. Designed for wall mounting, this wooden crucifix showcases an intricately detailed depiction of Christ’s face, carved directly from the original walnut piece. The high-relief technique produces a striking three-dimensional effect while keeping the figure connected to the background. Engraved signature ‘M. Jégouzo’ from Marcel Jégouzo, located at the bottom right.
Condition : The item is in excellent vintage condition, with slight scratches, minor chips, and natural variations characteristic of hand sculpting. The wood background has developed a slight warp over time. Please note that the color shade of the item may vary slightly depending on individual screen settings
